Singapore is famous for the HOTness. There are only 2 seasons: HOT season (Apr - Sep, really HOT!!!) and raining season (Oct - Mar, cool and comfortable).

As a Chinese, you do not need to worry about the culture. It is basically a Chinese country. Even all English movies must have Chinese subtitles. Cool!


The housing rent rate is getting higher and higher (grown 200% since last year.) To rent a whole set of 2 bedroom room apartment (we call it a condo), you need to pay at least 4000 Sin$ (1 USD$ = 1.5 Sin$ ). The HDB is cheaper, you can rent a whole set of HDB (3 bedrooms) with 2000$ - 2500$ depending on area.

Food is cheap and various. You can find all kinds of food in Singapore.

Transport cost. Bus and Train are cheap here. Taxi is 1.8 - 2.2 Sin$ per mile. But if you want to buy a car, it would be very very expensive. It would cost you around 60k - 70k Sin$ for a Japanese car. Meanwhile, the oil/GAS is also very expensive.

Education is good here. You can find all kinds of primary school here, English, Chinese, Japanese, etc. The NTU and NUS are two very world famous University.

Vacation. Enjoy the beach! Super easy and cheap to fly to Thailand, Genting Highlands, Padang, and other islands.

In conclusion, if you can bear the HOTness here, Singapore is definitely a good place. ^_^
